Summer heat still holding on...but that will soon change!

We have made it through the Labor Day weekend and now it is time to get ready for the fall crappie season! The heat is still holding on and will for the next few weeks as we have temperatures in the mid 90's forecast for the next week. But, all of that will soon change as we get toward the end of the month.

Fishing is slow but that will soon change!
We are in the middle of the Dog Days of Summer and the crappie fishing has really slowed down. There are a few fish being caught early in the morning and late in the afternoon on live bait around brush. No big stringers being caught. We have heard of some decent stringers being caught at night fishing under lights.

CRAPPIE: Crappie fishing on Weiss Lake has been fantastic! The spawn is underway on the lake and the fish are shallow. We have been catching some really big stringers long line trolling. We have had stringers already this week of 90, 60, 57 and 55 and we are just in the middle of the week.
