Summer Fishing Report

Summer Fishing Report

July 30, 2019 by

We are in the middle of the Dog Days of Summer and the crappie fishing has really slowed down. There are a few fish being caught early in the morning and late in the afternoon on live bait around brush. No big stringers being caught. We have heard of some decent stringers being caught at night fishing under lights. Most of these fish are being caught in 12-14 feet of water along the river ledges. They are in the typical summer pattern. Use your electronics to find the brush and you find a few fish. The bite is light most of the time because the water is hot and the fish are not real aggressive. All of this will soon change as we move into the fall of the year! The fall crappie season will start up around the end of September and run into December. Once we get some cooler weather and the water temperatures start falling, the crappie will be aggressive. We are already booking dates for both the fall season and the upcoming Spring 2020 season. Both are booking fast so if you want to set up a trip you need to start looking at dates as soon as possible and hopefully we will have a date open that will work for you. Remember there is a 10 inch size limit on Weiss Lake and the daily creel limit is 30 per person, per day. See Ya' on the Water
